Hastelloy C276 I-Beam cannot be hardened by heat treatment although it can be hardened by cold working. Hastelloy C276 T-Beam is certified for oil and gas service, which is further also approved as a material for construction by the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Hastelloy C276 H-Beam may be welded by the gas – metal – arc, gas – tungsten – arc and shielded – metal – arc processes.
Alloy C276 Angle may normally be used in the as – welded condition, but a post – weld anneal will result in optimum corrosion resistance. Alloy C276 Chain resists the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat – affected zone. This makes Alloy C276 C-Channel suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition. Because of its adaptability, Alloy C276 I-Beam can be used where “upset” conditions are likely to occur or in multipurpose plants.
